happy valentine's day
well just in case you are an incurable romantic...have a lovely valentine's day..if you are lucky your significant other might remember to at least verbalize that..I made David a rather raunchy card! He did remember to wish me a happy day so I guess I am luckier than others. I know Valentine's Day smacks of commercialism in a huge way but..it is still nice to be recognized. Tho ..a set of diamond earrings would be delicious. Maybe in my next life . That would be the life where i come back as a size six..blonde..full lipped Goddess. They seem to get all the best gigs in this life. They don;\'t have to be very smart either. Oh well ..that was rather bitter but hey. I am off to take my real sweetheart to school..he is tall, handsome and still takes the time to tell his Mummy that she is special so really I will have a lovely day.
My walk this morning was lovely..cool and very upbeat by the time i got home. smile and definately tell someone you love them today of all days. xx coco

great night out !!
My friend Marlena kindly asked me to go along with a group of girls for a meal last night. I hadn't met most of the girls but we soon got chatting and ordered the Banquet ..we were at Kam's Chinese Restaurant. I ordered my first Jim Beam and off we went. My laughing muscles got a work out and for the second week in a row had a great night out.I felt dressed up and included. I must admit to feeling quite lonely and lost for the last two years since moving here. The last two weeks I thought maybe i have made a breakthrough and a baby step into making this place home. ...for a while anyway.
Today I making two cards ..a wedding for commission and Valentines Card for David for tomorrow. That one is a bit raunchy..cause i can. The wedding one is coming a long very nicely . It's red, white and black. I have to say I work a lot in those colours but these colours were requested so I am off and going.
Tom is having a relaxing day. David and Tom went to the outdoor theatre to watch "Gulliver's Travels..I loove Jack Black .i will get it on DVD . Tom has a new song to practice on his guitar..Pink Floyd..yep that's a blast from the past .
Dave and I went for a coffee this morning at 202. We have been trying to get some time for the two of us as sometimes through the working week we don't catch up much. It was lovely. We had a look through the shops and held hands. AWWW !!
Well Dave is washing my car..the Goddess was a little muddy and he is kindly washing the bugs off. I have to get back to my cards so have a lovely Sunday..cheesy pasta for tea and fresh peaches ..yummo xx Tell someone you love them today and enjoy the beautiful day xx

howdy
hi there guys,
back again..just getting over a horrible bout of gastro. lots of tummy pains . yuk. been sleeping a bit the last few days. we had to come home early from Mildura the other day. It was Dave's first day off for a very long time and he took us away just because..lol. We had lunch which i soon regretted. We took a look round the shops, got the last coupla school supplies for Tom for his return to school Monday. I got a new pair of black 3/4 pants as they are my standard uniform these days and I had a very quick doddle in K Mart. The boys had Cold Rock icecream on the way home and I just felt jealous but I don't think my stomach would have appreciated that deluge.
Tom has made his return to school without too many complaints. He seems to have grown up over the holidays both in height and attitude. He returned to cricket practice and music lessons with much vigor.
Our friends the Myer family lost their Dad, Phil recently and I have been working on a card for them. Our hearts go out to them all in this most difficult time.
I have just spoken to Mum on the phone..Hi Katie if you are stopping by. Mum has been busy with her quilting and enjoying getting her list of UFO's finished. Well done. I have mending to do that has sat in the laundry for the whole of the school holidays. My goal is to get that done quick smart. I have been invited out on Saturday night to tea..which is the second week in a row.Lucky me. Looking forward to meeting another new group of girls for tea and a catch up. Dave and Tom are off to the outdoor cinema so all's good. Gulliver's travels I think .
Well i must go and have a quick shower and tidy up a bit more. Lots of love. Cherish your loved ones and kiss someone delicious today xx coco

2011
hi there bloggers,
well 2011 has certainly come with a bang. Australia has been hit with floods, bushfires, storms, cyclones and has been very ferocious. I am personally over it all. I would like normaility to reign. So many in our communities have lost so much .
I spent a lot of last year avoiding blogging and yet sitting here today I am anxious to keep my diary and display my cards ...so I am much enthused and hope to keep you all very up to date this year. It is a fine way to keep in contact with my friends and as much as I am a frequent facebooker .. i actually think blogging is a more intimate way of keeping people up to date with my life.
I have enrolled in a class to work on my own canvas. something i have dabbled at but wanted to learn more about. It is an intimate class size and the artist is positive and enthusiastic. Her name is Leonie and the class should be in the next month or so. Leonie runs a small business and teaches art on the weekends. Hopefully the skills i learn will enable me to use my collage style to put my art on a canvas as well as continue my cards.
Tom has returned to school today and the thought of routine and organisation again is actually refreshing to my soul. I wish to continue my weight loss journey and hopefully re enter the part time work force this year. I would still like to study ..but the timing just wasn't quite right towards the end of last year. My head was a bit dark and so i will put that wish aside for a little while longer. When the time is right..it will be right. For now i have some mini goals and I will take it a step at a time.
Dave is very busy, the flood situation in Victoria has certainly consumed much of January . I am proud of his efforts and he has certainly acquired a lot of knowledge and understanding of a very serious situation which has affected our community .
Well I must sign off for now. I have been a bit ill over the last few days and I feel a little queasy again. I hope you are all fit and well and happy.
Lots of love
Coco xx

what a gorgeous day!!
hi there bloggers,
well what a pretty day. but.. i am in the mood for some"dungeon "time . That now actually makes me laugh because i have recently read that dungeon and goddess are actually S& M terms. I use these two words a lot .. i also go on about vanilla a lot and that too is a double meaning. Oh well. I am not into the other so i will just have to continue using them in my own context. Can't see me in leather and stilletos with a whip... can you?? nah!!
Maybe the shoes but seriously I hope you like the latest card which is pictured above. I dug into my vintage button box and used an old belt which I altered.
Lots of Tim - my darling mentor- I so... love his products. I love the tiny attacher.. I am in staple heaven. I actually think a long arm stapler would be cool so Tim if you are stopping by .. please . It would be very handy in my kit.. still with the tiny staples.
I have got my sewing machine out today too.. i have lots of repairs and alterations to do. Tom goes into his formal winter uniform next week and i need to alter two apirs of pants . I bought a pair of satin pj 's and well suffice to say..I am a big girl but the pants would fit Nigella Lawson and myself in them . Not an option really. Chop Chop.
I have some orders to do and also some cards for sale so ... I am a busy busy girl.
Well music is on and I am off. Hope you liked my creation. xx kiss someone delicious today. LOve someone special and keep smiling xx

Lest We Forget
Good Morning,
Today is ANZAC day here in Australia. Dave , Tom and I went to the Dawn Service here in Swan Hill.
Thomas turned twelve this year and as a very generous guesture by the keeper of memories in our family Dave's sister Monica , has passed the medals of her Pa to Thomas. His name was Thomas Bernard Leahy . Thomas wore those medals today to the dawn service with great pride and I must say with a large amount of dignity.
We were very proud of how he obseved the occasion with respect.
The service was lovely and I shed a tear when the bugal was played. (Tom's science teacher was the musician)
We have strong military ties in our family .We trust that Thomas will now honour Thomas Bernard and all the other men and woman for which we thank for our freedom every year and Lest We Forget.

hello ...
hi there bloggers, it's been a while again...
isn't is interesting the sounds of daily life when you sit in a silent room without ther cd player, or t.v going or a movie on the laptop.
What can you hear??
I can hear the sound of the garbage truck thumping and stop starting. I can hear my dishwasher grinding around and i can hear a clock ticking. The odd tweet of a bird and the hum of my laptop.
I haven't really stopped to think about that before. Life is amazing.
I have the most beautiful array of roses in my garden and it is such a pleasure taking the scissors out and picking some for a vase in my house. The colours are amazing, Tom brought me a divine black red rose into my room the other day. It was a tight bud and now it has opened into the most perfect rose. The smell is intoxicating and I love it. He is a beautiful boy.
Tom had some R E homework last night where he was making a mask of a lion's face. The theme was Father , he had to think of some words that best described his dad. Loyal, kind, generous, intelligent, funny ... the list went on. It is lovely that kids are helped at school to appreciate people in their life , especially his Dad , who sometimes is busy with work but always impacts on how decisions are made by Tom. He is growing into a lovely man. God Bless him.
I am a struggling a bit for inspiration for my cards at the moment. I don't know if it is just toomany ideas in my head or I have to reorganise my thoughts into a book or just maybe go through my stamps and have a good look. I think maybe the latter. I must get a box and lay them out and source some ideas, i fall into the trap of only using my favourite ones sometimes wheras I think if i re look i will see more inspiration.
well people i am going to be busy today. i have lots of things i want to achieve. Tonight is play time, Dave has Council so i have several free hours. I just have to figure what is for tea. I wish I had someone to make that call for me every day. Oh well ...
Smile, kiss someone delicious today and tell someone how much they mean to you .
To my friends who are now all at a distance... you fill my heart with love and joy and I am truly blessed to have you in my life . XX coco

weekend with sandie
hi there guys,
what a lovely weekend we had when darling Sandie came for a play date.
She arrived on Friday, in the rain, but safe and sound. We dropped Tom of at Sam's Birthday party and got fish and chips for tea. Tom had a great time , he has finally made a mate and I don't think wanted to come home.
I made a lovely apple streusal topped cake...yummo , ask Sandie??
We had a great natter and I got the bestest present. Sandie bought me a Tim Holtz , Book of Curiosities. Personalised to Coco and the strangest thing.. I had also ordered a book for myself. Tim realised I had done this and realised Sandie had purchased one too , he e-mailed Sandie and sorted for her copy to go to her and I got a refund. The amazing thing is , we are talking about Tim Holtz..my mentor and art hero. YES TIM HOLTZ. He took the time out of his day to make that conncection and act out of extreme kindness not to ruin the surprise for me. I am truly touched.. he is a very, very , very busy man and my appreciation is GREAT. I am now the proud owner of my book and Sandie has had the pleasure of e-mailing the man himself. Thankyou Sandie and cococuddles to Tim for the great present. The masks were fabulous too. !!
we had a lazy saturday with some homecooked yummy food and then on Sunday made the trip to Bendigo to see our darling Kathryn.
We had lunch and laughs at the Boardwalk restaurant on Weeroona Lake and then off to do some shopping. House, Autograph, Big W, a wow factor handbag and hat shop and then Riot Art supplies. Woo Hoo ! we then got tgo see where Kat lives and we nearly had an extra hairy , very cute visito when Pixie jumped in the car with Dave.
Sandie is now home safe and sound getting ready for her kids classes tomorrow so a big thanks for a lovely weekend. Wish i had bought those glasses at house Sandie!!
i will attempt some photos too xxx lots love coco

I went to hang out the washing last night and my bigeest fear .. i took a step and a spider crawled over my foot. F***@@@K. I did not enjoy that at all.
My poor wee Mum has whooping cough. I had it a few years ago and it is crap. I feel so sorry for her and wished we lived closer.
I have finally installed my camera disk to my laptop and so hopefully will be able to share some pics with you. No particular topic. Just random. Leave me a comment if you need an explanation.

Happy Happy Happy
As many of you know I wear my silver jewlery quite a lot. Dave wanted to buy me something for my fortieth birthday last year and so when we went to Mildura for a day out I found this lovely silver ring to wear on my wedding finger as when I wear my silver I didn't have a ring for my wedding finger. It is like a half a square ball. It looks like the balls in Rundle Mall, smooth and shiny. Well when we moved from our rental house to our new home in late November I realised I couldn't find my ring. I looked everywhere turning out coat pockets and handbags and drawers and little jars etc. Well today is a great day as I have been doing the huge task of cleaning out my patterend paper. A job I have needed to do for a very long time. Dave was painting our cupnaords in the next room and I am in the sudy under a mountain of paper. There at the very bottom of the wicker basket which is two foot long and very deep was my ring. It must have fallen off the desk into the basket . If could turn a cartwheel I would.
Have a great day xx
Have a great day xx
It has been a while!
hi there bloggers,
Well it s finally holiday time again for Thomas. First term at highschool seems to have gone well. Reports were good and he is happy. He has an invitation to a Birthday party in the holidays and we are pleased for him.
We decorated Tom's room whilst he was on camp. It looks great and he was very surprised. he says it feels like home and after looking in there tonight at a big boy mess he must be comfortable there.
Dave has been busy today painting our room. We will complete it next weekend when we do the feature wall. We have to do some more doors and frames throughout the house. It is slowly taking shape and looking clean and refreshed.
Dave has been very busy and was kind enough to re shuffle to allow me to go to the opening of Sandie and Janes new store in Naracoorte. The shop is very pretty and has lots of Tim Holtz products and somje stock which is unusual and new. I am proud of the girls and hope it is a success for them.
I cooked a lovely casserole tonight and a chocolate cake for dessert. Ihave been thinking of cake for days and finally got around to it. Yummo tea and was a popular Mummy tonight!!
My poor wee mum is poorly. She sounds like she has swallowed a squeaky door and a thunderstorm. She has had a week off of work and these are the times that living six hours away is crap.
Mum had a lovely 60th Birthday celebration. We have bought her tickets to Mary Poppins the musical in melbourne in August, i am looking for ward to that very much. The party went really well it was lovely to see her friendas which are so much like family to me it was great.
Tom and I are having a jammie day Monday. I have to concentrate on the study and Tom has free reign to play all day, watch movies eat popcorn etc. He has to get an injection on Monday night and so we will have to get dressed to go out but he has a play date on Tues. Looking forward to that as I am friends with Mitch's mum and Dave knows his Dad . That might work out to be a nice friendship.
I watched a great movie yesterday called Catch and Release. It stars jennifer Garner. It is lovely. One I know I will watch over and over. $8.99 in Target . Gotta love those.

Gotta love those.

when i was a little girl!!
HOwdy people,
Just popped into town to check the mail and pick up Tom's book s for school. I had a little wander up the street and did a few jobs, as it is about 40 degrees Tom had elected to stay home so I was quite enjoying a little donder on my own. I went to priceline for some mouthwash and toothpaste etc . I popped into 218degrees for a look at their cool range of Icon jewlerry and got Tom a big box of Derwent pencils and an artist pad to add to his Birthday presents , for next week, from the newsagent.
Next stop was the postoffice I had a little note that I had a parcel. I couldnt remember anything outstanding so when I opened it up I got a big surprise. Inside was a letter fom my Mum and a Cd of and African group called Ipimtombi.
When I was a little girl as a lot of you would know I was fortunate enough to have a dad that got top travel the world. There are not many countries that he had not visited and I was fortunate to travel on a trip with him and Mum in 1977. I travelled from UK to Norway, Belgium, Brisbane, Tasmania, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, USA, and lots of beautiful blue ocean inbetween. I was home schooled on board the ship and got to live in the ship's hospital, a single room with ensuite and view.
I look at that time in my life as very fortunate indeed. I saw other cultures, lived in a setting where knowing flags of the world and location as a daily education.
I can remember so much about that time away. I already had the distinct difference to my classmates as living in a hotel and meeting people from all over the UK. I saw life through eyes of a child but so vastly different from the farming community around me.
The world travels gave me a gift so huge ... to love people from all over. We have always had lots of friends from different places and colours and cultures. I just want to say I am thankful for that.
To be honest I couldnt wait to get into my car and pop the cd into my player. I let the aircon cool me as the sounds of my childhood flooded back. I heard music that seemed to fill me with memories of timeds much different from know. The south african tunes and chants made me feel like I was a world traveller. I can remember this music when Mum and Dad had people over and the lounge room was fuul of people up dancing and being free and having fun. I can remember Mum playing this music shen she was cleaning the house on her day off. It had to be on very loud.. just how i like most of my music. I can remember the saddness and happiness in the voices of the singers and indeed feeling part of their emotional journey.
Before very long I realised that I was crying. I am not sure what about. A time lost.. a time of joy. It was a realisation that i was a grown up and even since Ian and my Mum have got divorced that in amongst some not so happy times I felt the tunes telling me I had some fun times too.
Mostly the music reminded me of Mum, she so loved to play the record we had. I think the recoeding we had was the original group from the 70's asnd this one is a bit more recent. However some of the songs I knew still took me to a place I have not visited in a long while.
It is amazing how words, smells, music , taste and indeed perfume can take you on a mental journey back in time. The colour of a piece of paper, the texture of someones curtains and the music playing is like you have stepped into Dr Who's tardis and whisked you away. Dreams... times gone by and memories only you have. Wow. Thanks mum, I think they were tears of joy really .... I will treasure the cd, you are very clever to have found it and I am sure Ann will love it too. It was such a surprise .
Boy I really do think it is well overdue that I write a book....just to capture those times for Thomas if nothing else. A book doesnt have to be published to be a book. Maybe that can be a 2010 venture.
Hope you are all having a great day. I had a great weekend at Naracoorte last wekend. Thankyou to Sandie and Joe for the hospitality but get some Mars Bars in that bar fridge for next time.LOL . We bought an extrordinary amount of Coonawarra wine.OOPS might just have to drink it. Ha Ha . Dave is quite proud of himself. Tom and the boys had a ball . He did not want to come away from visting with Adam, Josh and Tom H. He missed Sam but I have promised him another visit soon. Thanks to Trina and Craig for refreshing Tom's soul and giving him hope of finding dome friends here. We love you all and love those kids like our own. Tom was thrilled to catch Brandon and I think the feeling was mutual. We have left a lot behind in Naracoorte but hope to always visit and be welcome.
I am off to keep working on the study. I so want to create and its time to be doing so.
Love to all. Thanks to Sue for visiting and Trish...your work is such an inspiration!!

wow!! time goes so quickly!
hey there people,
time seems to be racing by again, we are already a week into the new year. i have been lucky enough to get a new laptop and so i have ready access to keeping my blog updated. i was just thumbing through some disks of photos and came across my P!NK disk from my birthday last year. a couple of you said you had missed the pink hair thing i did...silly girl . and so thought i would pop it on so you could see it. took me three expensive trips to melinda my lovely hairdresser to get my blond back. lol anyway i will post it.
tom and i are going to meet dave for lunch today. when we get home we might put the pool up we bought before christmas. under the cooleroo and wallowing like two beached whales seems like a way to keep cool. that is if i can prise tom off the Wii console. he loooves it.
we are hoping to make a trip to naracoorte in the next couple of weeks though we have to confirm reservations at Hotel Mudge ..once the receptionist gets back from swanning around on the beach. Tom is anxious to see his mates and well so am i. it will only be a couple of nites but its better than nothing.
i have bought some neat jewelry from the surf shop 218 degrees here in swan hill. it is all metal and its called the icon range. it is so cool. the bracelet i bought is made from an old key, bent to go round the curve of your wrist and secured by red leather. the necklace is an antique silver colour and hanging off the chain is a silver chair. it is so cool. i will post a pic . it has all sorts of symbolisms and explained on the labels. i will be looking for more of that...it is right up my alley.
i am in the throws of sorting out my new dungeon!!
oh my goodness, what a task of love that is. i have to fit a whole room of crap into half a room. but its only temporary as well will hopefully put my shed up when the cooler weather comes and then we will officially have a spare room.
well people i am sure i have bored you all to sleep so i wil P O Q and go have my shower . take good care of yourselves. xx love ya cocox

new year..new opportunities..new adventures!!

well as you can see i am back on the paris trail again, i have been surfing the net for images and information on paris and her treasures. as you are aware i love the work of toulouse-lautrec , i hope the spelling is ok . he seemed to paint from knowledge of an area in paris that i believe is the red light district called pigalle, the area where many promiscous artists resided. according to the current info most services and naughty activities can be found there. moulin rouge was a big topic of his work and indeed by looking at a lot of his work the colour and images he used reflected what i assume a rather seedy, dark side of paris it must have been. i am no expert but i am facinated by his work and am earnest in learning more. i have views to complete a canvas this year and i would like to express what i find.
well it's new years eve and traditionally for the scots we paaarty tonight. i am not sure what we will do.,i would like to get dressed up and go out for tea and then come home for a few drinks. i have a new bottle of baileys and might make a mess of that perhaps. i have many plans for this year to come and now we have our own place to settle and work on it certainly is a more comforting way to start . tom goes to high school and what a big adventure that will be, he has so much to learn and embrace. i hope it is a fruitful adventure. a few of my friends are starting the year with challenges and i hope the flick over from 2009-2010 will be less stressful and happier time s ahead. reflection is a marvelous tool to realign thoughts and actions . i wish you all a time of reflection and change.
i wish for a year where i am not afraid to meet my challenges, take some risks and live a bit more. i hope it is a happy year with great memories and a body and mind which is healthier and more balanced.
don't be afraid to show love, affection, and caring. kiss someone delicious today and hold someones hand for comfort, love and reassurance.
have a great night tonight and a fantastic year to my friends all over this great land. i love you xx

hi there one and all,
had a great day , very relaxing , postponed lunch till dinner then very relaxed. Tom has come low wit the cold but had a lovely play day, he asked for hot custard for tea which means he is feeling poorly. Plenty of food for the next couple days. Feel very blessed for that knowing a lot of people have not got any.
Got some great seat covers for the Goddess, though she needs a wash and a vac. I got ani-pod, murder book and clothes when i went to Adelaide the other week. My Size- was a big bill!! oops
Well settling in with some baileys on ice and will try to upload a photo. Might go to Harvey Normans tomorrow with a view to buy a laptop , we will see. I might be too hungover- oops again.
Hope you all had a beautiful days with you and yours. lots love coco and the boys xx love to my friends far away who i wouls love to hold and tell them i love them. you all know who you are. xx
